About the Artist

Alyssa Urbaniak is a multimedia artist interested in the figure, natural environments, and the distortion of subjects and spaces. In her ink drawings, contrast is prioritized with solid areas of both inked and un-inked paper. Intentional marks create details meant to emphasize contrast from a distance and add texture upon a closer look. Texture is considered in her paintings as well, using a variety of marks and layers of color to evoke an emotional response.
